Simplified Onboarding Experience
We've completely redesigned the onboarding flow to make it faster and easier for new users to get started.
- •Phone Number Now Optional: You can now skip entering your phone number during onboarding
- •Google Sign-In Only: Only Google Sign-In is required to start using the app
- •Skip Option: Clear "Skip for now" button allows you to proceed without phone
- •Progressive Data Collection: Phone can be added later in Settings when needed
- •Smart Backup Detection: Automatically checks for backups using email (phone optional)
Enhanced Local Backup System
We've significantly improved the local backup feature to make it more reliable and user-friendly.
- •Automatic Permission Handling: App automatically requests storage permission when needed
- •Refresh Button: New refresh button to manually reload backup files after granting permission
- •Better Error Handling: Improved error messages and retry logic for permission issues
- •Smart Detection: Automatically detects and lists all local backup files
- •Permission-Aware: Works seamlessly on Android 13+ (no permission needed) and older versions
Improvements
- •Simplified Welcome Screen: Phone number input is now clearly marked as optional
- •Better Button Labels: Changed "Continue" to "Get Started" with rocket icon
- •Helpful Hints: Added explanation text about why phone is useful
- •Flexible Backup Check: Checks for backups with or without phone number
- •Email-Only Business Records: Business records can be created with email only
- •Permission Management: Automatic permission checks and requests
- •Error Recovery: Retry logic if permission is denied initially
- •Directory Validation: Checks if backup directory exists before reading
